Everyone knows the relationship between a player and their racquet is a complicated one. It’s hard for players to step away from a tried-and-true racquet, but each racquet has an optimal lifespan. If you are playing with a racquet that is more than couple generations behind, it’s time to start shopping for a new partner on court.

WHEN IS IT TIME TO MOVE ONTO A NEW RACQUET?
Body Friendliness matters. Racquet materials evolve to benefit the player and their body health. Manufactures are looking to maximize player competitiveness by improving performance with body comfort in mind. Every three years, manufactures modify a particular racquet, with some years modifications more significant than others.
Players change too. At Tennis Station, we understand that player’s gameplay changes every 4-6 years. Maybe you have found that you’re more of a baseliner or a net player, which impacts the racquet you choose. In Addition, we remind players that other factors will influence your competitive prowess, such as age, physical changes, time spent on court,
competition level, etc. For instance, a player might be looking change the weight of their racquet or the head size due to wanting more endurance or power.
Racket Fatigue is a thing.
Signs that you need a tennis racquet replacement range from visible frame damage, noticeably less power and control, or irregularly shaped racquet head. If you experience persistent elbow, shoulder or back pain while playing, it may also be a sign that the racquet is no longer suitable for you.
